🛝 Messy Playgroup for Toddlers: 10:00am - 11:00am every Friday at The SECC Community Hub, 1007 Botany Road, Mascot. Explore the world of senses through art and messy play, led by an experienced and qualified educator. Children 1-3 years and their parents/carers can join the supported playgroup for only $3 per family. Book here.

🕹️ Youth Drop-In: 3:30pm - 7:00pm at Arncliffe Youth Centre, 9 Townsend Lane, Arncliffe. Bayside Council hosts teens 12 years and up with sports, games, art, music and snacks provided. Drop in on any Monday, Wednesday or Friday during school term. Learn more.

🚧 Bay Street Road Closures: The barriers will go up from 5:00pm Friday to 10:00pm Sunday, Bay Street (between Grand Parade and Moate Avenue), Brighton-Le-Sands. This 200m section of the street will be closed to encourage local restaurants along the strip to offer alfresco dining on the road. Learn more.

🧁 Ramsgate Food Markets: 8:00am - 2:00pm at Ramsgate Public School, Chuter Avenue, Ramsgate Beach. Around 60 stallholders sell everything from brownies to lamb rolls to organic produce. Parking is plentiful in the surrounding streets and everyone’s welcome with the exception of four-legged friends, who can’t enter because of the school’s regulations.

♻️ Recycling Drop-Off Event: 8:00am - 3:00pm at the Bayside Council Bexley Depot, 10-14 Rye Avenue, Bexley. Keep the wheels of the circular economy turning by dropping off your e-waste, metals, whitegoods, mattresses, garden waste, X-ray films, light globes and old bikes. The depot is only open to Bayside residents during these regular events and only for materials advertised as accepted items. Learn more.

🌳 Bushcare at Lambert Road Reserve: 9:00am - noon at Lambert Road Reserve, Bardwell Park (the reserve entrance is next to 4 Lambert Road or 75 Darley Road, Bardwell Park). Bushcare is a chance to meet likeminded people and get some exercise while looking after the local environment. Learn more and register here.

  • 10:00am - 10:45am at Eastgardens Library (ground floor of the Westfield)

  • 11:30am - 12:15pm at Bay Street, Brighton-Le-Sands

🍻 Slow Down Sundays: Enjoy the live music on every Sunday from 2:30pm - 5:00pm at Slow Lane Brewing, 30 Byrnes Street, Botany. They host a rotating selection of artists playing some relaxed tunes. Learn more.

🎢 Aussie NightMarkets at Brighton-Le-Sands: 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Kyeemagh Carpark, Kyeemagh Beach, General Holmes Drive (via Southbound lanes), Brighton-Le-Sands. Food trucks, stalls, rides and games. Free entry and on-site parking, but there are limited spots, so get in early! Learn more.

🌳 World Environment Day Tree Planting: 9:30am - 12:30pm at Sir Joseph Banks Park, Botany (meeting at The Esplanade, Botany). Bayside Council is hosting a tree planting event with Conservation Volunteers Australia that will see 2000 native trees planted to help regenerate the bushland in SJB Park. Community, schools and businesses are all welcome. No experience is necessary. Bayside Council will provide tools, gloves, and a light lunch, but bring your own drinking water, long trousers, closed shoes, and a hat. Book in here.

🍂 Nature Playgroup: 10:00am - 11:00am at Arthur Byrne Reserve, Maroubra. Children 0-5 years and their parents/carers can get out and explore the natural environment. Each session includes songs, activities, stories, and free play. Please note the space has no closed fences or boundaries. This event by South Eastern Community Connect (SECC) is free but tickets are required. If it’s your first time attending an activity by SECC, you need to complete an online registration form.

👩 POPPY Playgroup: 10:00am - 12:00pm on Mondays during the school term at Kingsgrove Community Aid Centre, 30 Morgan Street, Kingsgrove. This is a free facilitated playgroup for children aged 0-5 years and their mothers who are experiencing mental health challenges. Referrals are accepted from health professionals, as well as self-referrals. Organised by Kingsgrove Community Aid Centre and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. More information here.

🐝 World Environment Day Fun for Kids: 3:30pm - 5:30pm at Rockdale Library, 446 Princes Highway, Rockdale. There will be a beekeeper talk and demonstration plus eco craft session, free-of-charge for kids aged 5-12. Book here.

👶🏼 Eastlakes Supported Playgroup: 10:00am - 11:00am at Eastlakes Public School, 7 Florence Avenue, Eastlakes. The SECC hosts unstructured and structured play activities that develop children's social, emotional and cognitive skills. All of the SECC’s supported playgroups offer developmental monitoring called Learn the Signs Act Early (LTSAE). All staff are trained in this and have a background in children’s development. 🎨 Sensory Play for the Little Ones: 11:00am - noon at St George Leagues Club, 124 Princes Highway, Kogarah. Fun Messy Mates are hosting a sensory play session for kids aged 6 months to 5 years. Bring a towel, change of clothes, wipes and plastic bag. Tickets cost $21 per child. Book here.

🧘 Intergenerational Yoga: 10:30am - 11:30am every Thursday (until June 29) at the KCS Community Hub, 49 English Street, Kogarah. Fun and interactive, all abilities yoga class for ages 0-99+ facilitated by the Yoga Foundation. There will be options to participate on the mats or sitting in a chair. ✍️ Future Writers Workshop for Teens: 4:00pm - 5:00pm at Rockdale Library, 446 Princes Highway, Rockdale. Whether your teen wants to master their short story skills, publish a book one day or just loves writing, this four-week after-school program (led by a published author) will help boost their storytelling.
