Doggy Market Day: 10:30AM-3PM at Happy Little Howlers, 23A Luland Street, Botany. It’s like a food market, but for doggos. Happy Little Howlers and BOXD FOR PETS have organised an event to bring local small businesses and pet lovers together for a day of treats, connection and activities. Competitions will be arranged during the day to give dogs an opportunity to compete in some activities and win some prizes. It’s a free and family-friendly event. Little Bay Neighbour Day: 10:30AM-2:30PM at Prince Henry Hospital Nursing and Medical Museum, 2 Brodie Avenue, Little Bay. Enjoy new local market stalls, learn about the history of the former Prince Henry Hospital; enjoy a guided tour of ‘Spare Parts’, an exhibition about the history of surgery; and take part in tai chi and other demonstrations. Plus, there will be kids activities, a sausage sizzle, jumping castle, psychic readings and more. Free event and no bookings required. More info here.

Youth week skate event: 11AM-2PM at Mutch Park Skatepark, Wentworth Avenue, Pagewood. A free day for kids aged 12+ that includes skate lessons, all wheels jam, Go Pro workshop, ball games and more. This event was rescheduled from 20 April. Tickets are free but you need to book and sign a waiver form.

Nature Playgroup: 10-11AM at Arthur Byrne Reserve, Maroubra. Children 0-5 years and their parents/carers can play together in the natural environment. Each session includes songs, activities, stories, and free play. Please note the space has no closed fences or boundaries. This event by South Eastern Community Connect (SECC) is free but tickets are required. If it’s your first time attending an activity by SECC, you need to complete an online registration form.

Supported Playgroup: 10-11AM at Eastlakes Public School, 7 Florence Avenue, Eastlakes. The SECC hosts unstructured and structured play activities that develop children's social, emotional or cognitive skills. All of the SECC’s supported playgroups offer developmental monitoring called Learn the Signs Act Early (LTSAE). All staff are trained in this and have a background in children’s development. Chess Club for Adults: Join the free weekly Chess Club at Mascot Library, 2 Hatfield Street Mascot, every Tuesday from 3-5PM. Meet fellow chess enthusiasts and improve your skills. Learn more and register here.

Art for Wellbeing: 4:30-5:30PM at The SECC Community Hub, 1007 Botany Road, Mascot. An 8-week therapeutic art program where you'll work on a concept and expression each week that leads to a final piece displayed at the annual Hub Creative Showcase in July. Tote Art in the Park: 10-11AM at the Tote Building overlooking Tote Park, 100 Joynton Avenue, Zetland. Children 0-5 years and their parents/carers can enjoy some outdoor creativity with art in the park and sensory activities. Each session is $3 per family. Book here.

Little Green Sparks Discovery Club: The first session of a four-week program is 3:45PM- 4:45PM at Mascot Library, 2 Hatfield Street Mascot. Open to 7-11 year olds, this fun and science-y program will take place on May 4, 11, 18 and 25. Through a series of hands-on activities using everyday objects, children and their accompanying adults learn the basics of science. Adults must accompany children for the duration of the one-hour sessions. Learn more and book your spot.

One Drop Run Club: Meeting at 6PM at 5 Erith Street, Botany. Join the One Drop crew on the first Thursday of every month for a 5KM loop around Botany, starting and finishing at the Taproom. A complimentary schooner awaits at the finish. More info here.
