21 candidates contest seats covering parts of Bayside in upcoming state election

The Bayside area is represented by four seats, including Maroubra, Heffron, Rockdale, and Kogarah

Minor party candidates have secured the top spots on the ballot paper in the safe Labor seats of Maroubra and Heffron ahead of the state election on Saturday, March 25th.

Chris Minns has gained a significant advantage in the battle for Kogarah, the state's most marginal seat, with top position on the ballot.

Liberal candidate Muhammad Rana gained the number one position in the seat of Rockdale.

The draw for positions on the ballot paper in each electorate was conducted on Thursday after nominations closed on Wednesday.

The Bayside area is represented by four seats, including Maroubra, Heffron, Rockdale, and Kogarah, and there are a total of 21 candidates contesting these seats.

The candidates, in order of their position on the ballot paper, are:

Maroubra

  • Roderick Aguilar, of Pagewood, Informed Medical Options Party

  • Kym Chapple, of Maroubra, The Greens

  • Monique Isenheim, of Maroubra, Sustainable Australia Party

  • Michael Daley, of Chifley, Labor

  • Holly Williamson, of Randwick, Animal Justice

  • Bill Burst, of Phillip Bay, Liberal

Heffron

  • Rachel Evans, of Chippendale, Socialist Alliance

  • Linda Paull, of Dulwich Hill, Animal Justice Party

  • Francis Devine, of Maroubra, Liberal

  • Sarina Kilham, of St Peters, Independent

  • Philipa Veitch, of Maroubra, The Greens

  • Ron Hoenig, of Rosebery, Labor

  • Ann Godfrey, of Kensington, Sustainable Australia Party

Rockdale

  • Muhammad Rana, of Bankstown, Liberal

  • James Morris, of Hurlstone Park, Sustainable Australia Party

  • Steve Kamper, of Taren Point, Labor

  • Peter Strong, of Arncliffe, The Greens

Kogarah

  • Chris Minns, of Kogarah, Labor
